AATE is the national arm of Australian state/territory associations for the teaching of English - all members of these organisations pay an affiliation fee to AATE, and are automatically members of it. AATE members are part of an international network of teachers with a commitment to teaching and learning in the field of language and literacy. By joining your state English teachers' association you can have a voice on national issues concerned with teaching and learning in English.
