Melbourne Private Schools introduces Macclesfield Primary School in Macclesfield, for all your education and learning needs.
Macclesfield Primary School is a small, rural, Reception to Year 7 school situated 45 km from Adelaide in the Mt Lofty Ranges close to the larger towns of Mt Barker and Strathalbyn.
The core values of the school are respect, responsibility, success, safety and caring. Combining these with the Virtues Program ensures that our children have fun in a positive, caring and safe learning environment.
We are committed to improving our students’ learning outcomes in literacy, numeracy and science.
Our school NAPLAN results in spelling, reading, writing and numeracy have demonstrated improvement over the past couple of years and show that the students are recording results above the Australian average. We continue to strive for improvement.
We have a strong focus on community, participating and encouraging involvement in a wide range of community activities such as ANZAC and Remembrance days, Fringe events, Carols in the Square, Bush Care and town sports.
Our children are involved in a variety of environmental activities such as Water Watch, Weed Warriors, recycling, Road Watch and the breeding of spider mites and leaf hoppers to help eradicate the local gorse bush and bridal creeper problems.
Our children are involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as SAPSASA Sports, Pedal Prix, Festival of Music Choir and the Active After Schools program.
The school currently consists of four classes with the two junior classes housed in the new Early Learning Centre. All classes have interactive whiteboards and up to six networked, web linked curriculum computers.
The school has a well equipped gym, a new Stephanie Alexander kitchen and garden, a computer suite, large, shaded play areas and an adjacent bush block in which many of our environmental activities are undertaken.
Welcome to Macclesfield Primary School one of the popular educators in your Macclesfield area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
