Melbourne Private Schools introduces Suttontown Primary School in Suttontown, for all your education and learning needs.
Suttontown Primary School, once a small rural school, now caters for 100 students at its site on the northern boundary of Mount Gambier.
Just five kilometres from the centre of South Australia’s largest regional city, the school is able to take advantage of the city’s infrastructure which includes such educational pluses as the library, theatres and extensive sporting facilities.
No longer the rural hub that it was when first opened in 1917, the school is now operating at full capacity as parents opt for enrolment at a smaller primary school.
The closure of the Tarpeena Primary School has added another 15 students from that area in the past year.
Following the transfer of resources from Tarpeena, Suttontown is in the unique position of having both a COLA and a gym as a result of the BER initiative of the Federal government.
The additional resources that the school gained from the neighbouring closure had a very positive effect on the facilities and finances at Suttontown.
The school enjoys a very positive public profile that ensures that numbers are never likely to be an issue for closure, which was the case in the mid-1980’s when the nearby Mulga Street Primary School was opened.
As we have no on-site preschool facilities, our Reception students come from a variety of sites in the city, and our graduates move on to one of four secondary schools in the vicinity.
Welcome to Suttontown Primary School one of the popular educators in your Suttontown area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
