The School of Applied Media & Social Sciences (SAMSS) is located on the beautiful Monash Gippsland Campus in the Latrobe Valley township of Churchill about 140km east of the University’s Clayton Campus.
Our wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses allows our students to choose a program of study suited to their specific interests, needs and career goals. Course options range from broad, generalist degrees like the Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences to more specifically vocational programs such as the Bachelor of Community Welfare and Counselling, and the Bachelor of Arts (Journalism). In addition we deliver the Diploma of Tertiary Studies – Monash’s highly successful pathway program for secondary school students wishing to study at university.
The School embraces the Monash University flexible learning culture by offering some of our academic programs at Berwick and Peninsula campuses and, because we are committed to offering the same academic opportunities to students who, for a variety of reasons, cannot participate at university as on-campus students, we also provide top quality distance education through the Monash Gippsland Off-Campus Learning Centre.
Welcome to The School Of Applied Media & Social Sciences one of the popular educators in your Churchill area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
